With over 25 years of experience, David Mitcham is an established and well-respected criminal defense attorney. He has served as the lead counsel in more than 200 jury trials in the Harris County Criminal Courthouse and has been board-certified in criminal law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1985.

In 1983, Mitcham was the lead state counsel in more felony jury trials (25) and secured more felony jury convictions (24) than any other Harris County prosecutor. After working as a Harris County assistant district attorney from 1980 to 1984, Mitcham embarked on the private practice of law. Last year, the Patchen & Mitcham Law Firm, located in the Historic Old Quarter Building, celebrated 20 years of fighting for justice on behalf of citizens accused.
